It’s a twelve track selection which illustrates for the second time just how good some of the classic soul bands sounded. From Fat Larry’s Band, Con Funk Shun, L.T.D, Maze and The Blackbyrds, ample proof that their music was in so many cases, timeless. Additional tracks are also provided by the ladies: Love Unlimited and Perri, and then further manly examples come from GQ, B.T. Express, The Fatback Band and Kleeer with ‘Next Time It’s For Real’ from their magnificent ‘Intimate Connection’ set. We finish with Guy from 1999 which strangely sounds better now than it did then. Volume 3? No problem.
