Thanksgiving might be over . . . but I’m still grateful and surviving on leftovers. There is plenty to share, so please sit down and join me!
As I was planning last week’s Thanksgiving episode, I came across quite a few songs that I considered playing – but decided to go with a particular ambience which encompassed the mood and encouraged reflection & emotional recall of the season. However, I was left with several songs that I still wanted to share with you – so, join me now for some left-overs . . . and let me tell you just how grateful I am for your listenership!
This may be my most eclectic episode to date, as I reveal my gratitude to you by serving up the soulful groove of Earth, Wind & Fire, Miki Howard & Chiezda; the acapella New Jack Swing of Boyz II Men & Take 6; the Traditional Jazz of Louis Armstrong; the Hard Bop of Horace Silver; and the Straight Ahead Jazz of Thelonious Monk. There are also some beautifully soulful & jazzy vocals from Al Jarreau, Annie Sellick & Dianne Reeves. This episode comes to an end by kicking off the beginning of the Christmas Holiday season with some sweet, soulful reflection offered up by Rachelle Ferrell & Mighty Truth.
