www.soulandjazz.com launched its unique, legal and commercial free podcasting service on the 18th May, 2009, and features music across the spectrum of soul and jazz from the last 50 years.

Each week, new, free to download DJ-led podcasts are posted, with London’s Brian Hurst and Atlanta’s Jamal Ahmad and Cha-Cha Jones at the forefront of the programming.

From the beginning of November 2009, all podcasts are being made available to download in HD+ (320 kbps) with The Hurst Selection two-hour show, additionally providing a LE- 64 kbps) version. Additional one-hour specials known as Extra Inches and The Jazz 60 are also produced weekly, and all podcasts are notified directly to those wishing to subscribe via the RSS feed or iTunes.

The playlists of each podcast contain full artist details, track and album title, along with the year of release.

The website will be introduced in two stages: Firstly, with broadening programming content developing alongside relevant editorial, social networking and merchandising through 2009/10, and secondly, via the launch of www.soulandjazz.tv in the autumn of 2010.
