Continuum – A Journey Through Jazz
Episode 57: 2011 Vocal Jazz
As summer draws to a close I thought it might be nice to put together a mellow and melodic mix of new jazz vocals to facilitate a relaxing or romantic hour on your porch or veranda . . . or anywhere else you may wish to sit and soak up the cooling temperatures with some sultry vocals.
To that end, I present new music for 2011 from Esperanza Spalding, Zara McFarlane, Gretchen Parlato, Emily Saunders, Andrea Wood, Josh Kyle, Wynton Marsalis & Willie Nelson (feat. Norah Jones), Sachal Vasandani, Dave Brubeck Trio (feat. Roberta Gambarini), Kurt Elling, Anders Persson & Patrick Rydman and the Jason Parker Quartet.
Please feel free to contact me with any comments, questions or suggestion by writing to Scott@SoulandJazz.com. You can also find me on Facebook & Twitter.
