Extra Inches: The Men in Music
Well, we had a ladies ensemble recently so now it’s time for the chaps! We start in a Philly mood with a track by Billy Paul from his ‘First Class’ album – ‘It’s Critical’ is indeed a first class track. One of the great unsung heroes of the music industry is Tommy Sims and we feature a track from his incredible ‘Peace & Love’ set here. Classics are also to be found by Boz Scaggs, Jimmy Messina, Roy Ayers and from 1999, Mr Rahsaan Patterson with ‘It Ain’t Love’. From last year there’s music from Jeff Lorber, Leon Ware & Vladimir Četkar and more recent additions to the world of great music from Mayer Hawthorne, Terence Blanchard with Bilal, Kem and with his standout track from his ‘BLACKsummers’night’ CD, Maxwell and ‘Bad Habits’.
