The question I got asked in the summer was just when were we going to get round to paying homage to one of the greatest living soul legends of our time – Bobby Womack? I know, I know. It’s been far too long. Well, you have to wait not a moment longer as we are proud to present a collaborative one-hour show highlighting 14 memorable moments from the great man. Collaborative in the sense that Chris Wells, the Editor of Echoes Magazine, has thrown many suggestions my way with regards to tracks that “You couldn’t possibly leave out”. Well, sadly, some did have to make way, but they’ll be good for Volume 2! I won’t get into a blow-by-blow account of each track, but needless to say, when you hear a retropspective such as this, you’ll wonder how radio continues to ignore the work of such genius. When people talk about Wonder, Gaye, Hathaway and Mayfield, I have to say that Womack should never be excluded from that list either. Take a listen and you’ll understand why. Enjoy!
