The Music of: Schema Records
Something good has been happening musically over the last twelve years in Italy and Schema Records has seen itself develop into one of Europe’s, and maybe the world’s, premiere jazz record labels. As testament to this, allow us to give you a broad overview of what they’ve been up to recently. Getting us in the mood to begin with are The Dining Rooms with Cobra Coral. We then progress with classics from the JuJu Orchestra with their Kind Of Latin Rhythm and Toco wth Guarapiranga. Newer tracks come from S-Tone Inc, Nicola Conte, Christian Prommer’s Drumlesson, Lorenzo Tucci, Gerardo Frisina and the delightful Rosalia de Souza. Mario Biondi finishes us off, or so to speak, with This Is What You Are – a track that proves beyond all doubt that jazz in many of its forms, can cross into the mainstream. We have a feeling that there is so much more to come from this exciting and vibrant label, but if you’re discovering them for the first time, you’re in for a treat.
