I’ll leave it to true music historians to tell the whole tale of the most soulful and funk driven band ever to come out of Scotland: The Average White Band or AWB as they’re more affectionately referred to. On offer today are thirteen wonderful tracks coming from a magical eight year period: 1973 -1980. Some of my personal favourites are there – obviously, but more than that, a true reflection of accomplished writing, production and the truly unique vocal delivery of Hamish Stuart especially.
