Fashions may come and go in music, but quality will always be a constant regardless of when an album was made. This is pretty much how I feel about the Jackson family and their music. Irrespective of the hyperbole and occasional eccentric behaviour that occasionally use to follow them, the bottom line is that for the best part of forty years, this family has made some amazing music.
I’ve picked some interesting, rather than the obvious tracks here, and along the way have rediscovered many more gems for a second volume at some stage in the not-so-distant. Take an hour out of your week and remind yourself of what a great voice Michael had and just how much soul actually runs through this family. BH
