Jazz 60 (Remixed)
29th April 2010
Greetings Everyone!
It’s show # 3 and I hope you all have been enjoying what you’ve been hearing thus far.
You know, I’ve learned in jazz radio that there are certain tunes you can play that simply won’t disappoint, and being a personal favorite I thought you all would enjoy a classic cut by the great Horace Silver and his quintet to kick off this week’s show. We’ve of course got some new tunes which you’ll hear by the Cory Weeds Quintet and drummer Oleg Butmam that is sure to make your heads nod and we’ll also hear a classic song done in 2010 by Don Braden and Mark Rapp. If you enjoy the sounds of the guitar like I do, you’ll enjoy a groovy cut by George Benson along with the unmistakeable sound of the vibraphone from a man that plays it oh-so-right: Bobby Hutcherson. Of course I have to add the lovely ladies of jazz to the mix. We’ll hear an energetic cut by the beatiful Nneenna Freelon, new music from singer Jen Chapin and a woman you just can’t get enough of, the great Betty Carter!
Sit back, relax, and enjoy this musical ride on another edition of Jazz 60 (Remixed). Please send any comments or requests to nicole@soulandjazz.com I’d love to hear from you!
Nicole
