The Hurst Selection opens with classics from the Players Association, Michael Jackson and Dynasty and then reverentially presents 4 from: Ledisi. With the new album ‘Turn Me Loose’ dropping on the 18th August, we thought it high time to feature a track from the new set plus others from three of her previous albums. It’s also a warm welcome back to Dee C Lee, who has a new track available next month as a download, plus a beauty from M-Swift with Marcina Arnold & 24 Carat from the ‘Evening Sun’ set. There’s also classics from Temika Moore, David Diggs, The Boppers and Mr. Hurst’s favourite Gap Band track ever.

The Jazzier Side of Life in Hour Two, shows that age is no barrier as music comes from some of the new cats to some of the elder statesmen and women, although we’re not rude enough to point out who we’re referring to here! All are welcome.

We’ve fantastic tracks from the Milano Jazz Dance Combo album, which doesn’t officially arrive until October, but it’s too good to sit on, or so to speak. There’s more from the excellent new sets from The Quiet Nights Orchestra, Santucci Scoppa and M-Swift’s marvellous ‘Evening Sun’ CD, plus more as well from New Zealand’s Nathan Haines from the excellent ‘Right Now’. There’s also something amazingly go-go’ish about a new track from Stefon Harris & Blackout from the forthcoming ‘Urbanus’ set and also a classic from Wilton Felder featuring Bobby Womack. Finally, with some standards and more than a little class: Sophie Milman, Elli Fordyce and Andy Martin with The Christian Jacob Trio. What a treat to play such a cross-section of music. Something for everyone? We hope so.
