It’s the 2009 Edition of The Jazz 60 this week, as we look back over the last few months and wonder at the great music we’ve been fortunate enough to play so far. Carl Alllen & Rodney Whitaker get us underway with their version of ‘Work To Do’ and are followed in hot pursuit by Spyro Gyra, George Benson and Brian Bromberg, with tracks from their latest albums. We then move into European mode with music from Lorenzo Tucci, S-Tone Inc. Rosalia de Souza, The Quietnights Orchestra, The Milano Jazz Dance Combo and Santucci Scoppa. Fred Horn follows, I kid you not, whilst the UK’s Sound Stylistics bring to a close a varied and thoroughly satisfying sixty minutes of music.
