DJ Cozy ShawnSince 1991, DJ Cozy Shawn’s mission has been to put his heart & soul into every groove he spins! A native of Westbury, L.I., NY, Cozy Shawn has been a staple on the eclectic Atlanta nightlife scene since 1997, spinning a selection of new & classic funk, retro NYC disco, funky rare grooves, jazz-funk, latin, soul, jazzy house, & classic hip hop.

DJ Cozy Shawn has held DJ residences at landmark & legendary hot spots, lounges, & speakeasy’s, such as Sapphire Lounge(NYC,1994-1995) & State Of The Union(Washington DC, 1995-1996). At the world famous MJQ CONCOURSE(1998-2010, Creative Loafing’s Best of Atlanta/Nightclub, 8 times as a resident there!), The Atlanta Botanical Gardens “Cocktails In The Gardens”(2003-2008), The Mark Ultralounge (2004-2005), Commune (2003-2005), Django (2005-2006), The Globe (2006,2007), The Glenn Hotel (2007) and Pal’s Lounge (2009-2010).

Shawn has been the opening DJ for Me’Shell N’degeocello, Noot D’Noot, Spacek, Wolfmother, Judi Chicago, James Taylor Quartet/JTQ and many others. Cozy has also provided his skills for many an ‘after’ and private party for artists such as Earth,Wind,& Fire, Fishbone, Joi, Bad Brains, Cee-Lo, Jill Scott, Martin Luther, Lina and Les Nubians.

Cozy Shawn has shared line-ups with DJs such as Questlove (of The Roots), Madlib, Bobbito aka Cucumberslice, DJ Jamad, DJ Drama, Deep Dish, LuvBugStarSki, Andy Smith (of Portishead), Ubiquita NYC, Karl Injex, Brett Eclectic, Lofty Love, Salah Ananse, PeanutButterWolf, Cullen Cole, Rob Wonder, DJ Kemit, DJ Klever, Rich Medina and dozens more!!!
