Jazz 60 (Remixed)
25th June 2010
On June’s edition of Jazz 60 (Remixed) we start off grooving with the sounds of Bobbi Humphrey and keep it funky with tunes from Quincy Jones as well as a surprise feature from the man James Brown and some other 70’s tunes that you are sure to enjoy. We delve into some new music as well because as you know, I love to blend the classics with the new tunes. Jazz at Lincoln Centre Orchestra’s latest release features Wynton Marsalis and Sean Jones and was composed by saxophonist Ted Nash who also features on the album. Vocalist Annie Sellick is on hand to showcase a cut from her latest album as well. Some of the cuts you’ll hear are not ‘brand new’ but will fulfil your listening palette just the same, as trombonist Nick Vayenas gives you a taste of just how good that horn can sound.
As always, I thank you so much for listening to Jazz 60 (Remixed). It’s always a pleasure to hear from you, so please feel free to e-mail me at: Nicole@soulandjazz.com
Peace
