Swing!
Episode 4 – The King of Swing – Benny Goodman
Welcome back to our journey through the first half of the Jazz continuum for the fourth episode of ‘Swing!’
This is a monthly show where we explore the origins of Jazz and trace it’s evolution up through a time when swing was king, the big bands reigned supreme and Jazz was the most popular music on the planet.
This episode focuses entirely on one of the select individuals that were bestowed with the title ‘The King of Swing’ (yes, there was more than one) – Mr. Benny Goodman – featuring some of his best and most memorable tunes from the height of his popularity during the Swing era.
