5 Days In NOLA w/ Snarky Puppy

This is about five days that I spent in New Orleans, Louisiana in Feb. 2015 with a group of some of the most gifted and talented musicians in the world for a very special studio album recording that helped reshape my musical world.

Grammy winning Snarky Puppy are for me one of the most exciting bands on the planet, thanks to their incredible mix of soul, fusion, jazz and world music. They have amassed thousands of worldwide followers due to their seminal live performances and recordings in front of a live audience.

Michael League had invited me to attend the recording of the second volume of their ‘Family Dinner’ series and this was to take place over five days in New Orleans during Mardi Gras week. Whilst there I was given access to record interviews with some of the many, many, talented participants. These included Terence Blanchard, Chris Turner, Becca Stevens, Susana Bacca, Laura Mvula, Jacob Collier, Charlie Hunter, Geoff Coffin, Knower, all the members of Snarky Puppy and the legend that is David Crosby from Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

What I witnessed changed the way I thought about music and its impact on the world. So there we have it…

46 INCREDIBLE MUSICIANS
5 MAGICAL DAYS
3 MINDBLOWING SESSIONS
ONE INSPIRED VISION
& ONE ICONIC CITY

In words and music here is the making of Snarky Puppy’s Family Dinner Volume Two.
