Welcome to a big bold brassy edition of a show positively bursting at the seams with new material: Harleigh Blu, Gregory Porter, Gretchen Parlato, Moonchild, Snarky Puppy, Jazzinho, Zara McFarlane, Tommasso Capaletto... and the list goes on. Special mention goes out to a group that has bowled me over at the moment for their full-on soulful vibes - Zebrahim - new LP 'In My Heart...'
Along with the new stuff, I've thrown in a couple of Jazz-Funk dancefloor anthems for good measure - one from each side of the Atlantic. Light of the World were one of my favourite groups in my teenage years and I've been looking for an excuse to give them a run out - even more so since the passing of Paul 'Tubbs' Williams who went on to form The Warriors with Incognito's Bluey.
I've also dug out some of my favourite cinematic nuggets from composers such as Herbie Hancock, Michel Legrand, Quincy Jones and Ray Brown.
So there's the line up and hopefully there's something here to put you in a musical happy place.
